The tablet wars are heating up again with Sony's Tablet release, HP relaunching the Touchpad, and most significantly Amazon is launching it's own Tablet. Of course many know Amazon for it's Kindle eReader which is very popular, but now the ecommerce giant wants to take a shot at the Tablet market.

"It's called simply the "Amazon Kindle". But it's not like any Kindle you've seen before. It displays content in full color. It has a 7-inch capacitive touch screen. And it runs Android."

This will be a legitimate challenge to the Apple iPad which has dominated the market. Amazon has some expertise when it comes to the eReader market, but how will they fair against the amazing iPad? Experts say it's possible if Amazon prices their new Tablet at the correct and low price, probably under $300, they can give the iPad a run for it's money.

However, Amazon will have to sell their Tablet at a loss, but sometimes you have to do this in the short run to make a dent in the market share to benefit you in the long run. It is expected that myabe 5 million Amazon tablets could sell when released, but Apple would still have 75% of the market. The Wall Street journal speculates that the Amazon Kindle Tablet will be released sometime in October 2011.
