At today's Apple Keynote Event the iPad 2 was unveiled to the public by Steve Jobs. The iPad 2 is very beautiful and comes with new features and upgrades to it's predecessor. The iPad 2 will be available in two colors, black or white and will have both a gyroscope and accelerometer. It will have one camera in the front and one in the back, the back camera will have 720p recording of up to 30 frames per second with audio, the front camera will also have video recording which will enable you to use Facetime. The new iPad will also have video mirroring which is important because you will be able to output 1080HD video to your television via HDMI while still being able to watch it on your actual iPad.

The iPad 2 will support AT&T as well as Verizon networks but not at 4G speeds. What's very impressive is that the new iPad is very thin and weighs less than the first iPad and it is actually thinner than the iPhone 4. New software has been added such as Garage Band and iMovie allowing you to create music and do video editing. The battery life is still at 10 hours even though there is a faster dual core processor. The iPad 2 will start out at $499 and be available in stores on March 11, 2011.
